Worthless! We had these Gutter Glove gutters installed in March, 2019. Water runs over & underneath the gutters. Not installed correctly. They don't stand behind their product. Don't return phone calls. Their Lifetime Warranty, not! Their sales man says: 100% satisfied or your money back. doesn't exist once they got their money.

I purchased this product from Costco Boise, and installed it with ease. I had to trim off the aluminum pieces along the shingle side edge since it would not go easily under the shingles. The instructions showed this being done with a pair of tin snips, I found a much easier way, using the 4" cut-off (1.0 mm thick) angle grinder wheel then just slid the sections from right to left under the shingle from left to right along the gutter, and ensured the gutter edge was flat before putting in three of the self-tapping screws to secure it, didn't even used the 3M stick pad stuff. I was three sections short, not wanting to buy another box and end up with 6 redundant sections I asked Guttergloves customer service for help. They obliged and are sending me the 3 sections I need free. Apart from a really first rate product, of fine mesh stainless steel and aluminum, very well constructed product, this superb solution to gutter issues is backed up by FIRST RATE customer support. A company that truly stand by its products! Highly recommended.

GutterGlove - Bad customer service
GutterGlove - Bad customer service - Image 2
I recently ordered a Sunsetter awing. The installer they recommend in Milwaukee was Gutter Glove. The rep. came and took our order and a substantial down payment. The awning took about five weeks to arrive. Called Gutter Glove several times to set up an install date, "please call me back". Three days later and several calls finally a returned call. Seven day lead time for install "ok". Installers arrived, this is a roof mount system. Worker installed brackets but did not space them properly. The awing bound up when deployed. Workers using my material jammed a block of wood under one end to get it to work. Went to hook up lights, "lights did not work not there fault damaged in shipment. I was concerned about the block of wood. Installer said they would order an additional bracket and would install in a week. Two weeks go by and several calls which were never returned finally get a person. When I ask the rep. when they were coming back to fix it, he told me they were busy and didn't have time and did not want to upset other customers. OTHER CUSTOMERS! I told him I was going to call Sunsetter. He said"do what you gotta do man". Did I fail to mention this was all paid for. I called Sunsetter about this, they must have had some pull because they were there the next day (with a bad attitude). Worker who did shoddy work the first time was at it again. Turns out they lied about ordering an additional bracket, never ordered. Workers removed awing and repositioned brackets. One of the brackets had to be moved. Worker did not have clear caulk which looked good on the other three, so he used gray caulk. It looked horrible. I made him remove it and put clear like the other brackets. They had to go get some. I supplied them with a putty knife and some denatured alcohol to clean it up. He was throwing his tools and having a fit. I paid nearly $4000. It should work properly and look good. If you are having Gutter Glove install anything. They take your money and give you terrible service.

my gutter glove system did not stop ice dams from forming and leaking inside my homes front room , damaging my walls and ceiling. I called the company and was told everything was find and that i was told to turn on the system 12 hours before it snowed, which i was not. anything to get get out of paying for damage due to their product not working. I will not recommend this company or its products because they are garbage and worthless. they are very good at blaming you for the product not working and failing and destroying your personal property. do not buy this junk

You are looking at a different product than GutterGlove. Please fix.

I believe this is the product you are referring to.

http://www.allweatherarmour.com/products/awa-icebreaker

Guest

Agreed, this is a gutter covering, not an electric ice/snow melt solution. Please make sure that you have the right manufacturer.

Guest

Big Question: There is nothing to "turn on" with gutter glove, or any gutter guard. It's not electrical.

No moving parts. It's a screen that fits over your gutter to keep out leaves.

Clarify please?

Ice dams & such are a whole different animal, I think.

I used to work for gutter glove back in 2011 I know for a fact there is an "ice breaker" variation that has a heated pipe that runs on the underside of the gutter guard which is supposed to melt ice. I'm not surprised at all the bad reviews as they treat their employees just as bad as their customers..if not worse.

Hi,, Loved the thought of no more water pouring over my gutters. Hd these installed in 2006, now in 2015 I have water pouring over my gutters.. Paid $21 per foot installed so I won't have to go onto the roof to clean gutters. There is "something" growing on the gutterglove that prevents the water from entering the gutter. Called Gutterglove directly, they tell me "oh yea, a fungi can grow & clog them. Said to get some anti-fungal spray from the Home Depot & clean them off. Even offered to send me a free brush. BS, I an too old to be up there, that's why I had these installed to prevent water run-off. Time to throw them away & try something else. Thanks for another fast money sucking scheme. Meant to say it "reactivates itself" on Wet and Forget. Sorry.

Guest

If Frank went 15 years without an issue - I'd be tickled. Anyone with same issue, try Wet and Forget (don't try other similiar products - I have and they don't work as well) you spray it on and in days may weeks if you have 3" of moss growing on your roof like I did.

No scrubbing, etc. and every time it rains it deactivates itself. Use on siding and mold on car..had no damage. Next time deck gets moldy yuck will try there too.

It is great stuff though a little expensive. You have to put it on til it runs off don't skimp. And don't rinse or scrub it off for gosh sakes - check their website..Austrailia company developed it - I think. Ace Hardware, SAMs, Southern States has it or you might be able to online order it.

Order through Walmart and pick up free at store or Amazon maybe.

Guest

Nine years without having to clean nasty rotting leaves out of the gutters seems like a pretty good return to me. Nothing you can buy will last forever without some maintenance.

Angelly Wyg

So, if nothing grows on this stainless steel, why is something growing on it causing the rain water to flow over the gutter. When I contacted Gutter Glove to complain, he told me that it happens.

They don'the guarantee this from happening, just that the Gutter won'the clog. Put your money where you mouth is... I invite to come out & inspect for yourself! Contact me through here.

Let's who is making up a story. Bring a ladder!

Fake review. As always pissed consumer does not verify any of their reviews this is simply a competitor's review posted to badmouth a good product because they cannot compete on a fair market, anyone can come on the site and simply post anything they want without any verification whatsoever.

absolutely one of the worst review sites on the Internet gutterglove was rated number one by Consumer Reports for a reason because it is the best. Nothing grows on top of 316 surgical stainless steel mesh.

I have had it on my home since 2004 and it's fine. Valley areas need some maintenance if debris accumulation them other than that there's nothing better on the market today

If you would like your explanation to be taken seriously, you should employ proper grammar. Your misuse of punctuation is deplorable.

Intelligent people can compose meaningful and relevant sentences, and do not use words such as "pissed".

I was researching your product because my associates thought that it might be useful for some of their apartment buildings in Capitola and Castroville.

I could have dismissed a few bad reviews. However, I can not do business with illiterate ***

Guest

You have to be a sales person with GutterGlove. I have looked for the reviews on the Consumer Reports website and it's not there anymore.

In my case I think nothing over the gutters is best with the steep pitched roof we have. We'll then just continue to have them cleaned once or twice a year.

Dona Yja

These companies sell this kind of system for big bucks by telling you that you will never have to clean the gutters again. I have never seen a system that was worth the money.

Unless you have trees close to the home that are shedding leaves and other debris, you might be better off just replacing the gutters with new ones in order to get rid of the old ones plus the green-mold infested ones you have now. Don't you have any relatives or neighbours who could take a look at them a couple of times a year? This is one of life's travails.

The green stuff is caused by mold/fungi and can be killed with a spray, which is nothing more than cheap bleach. However, it will come back.

Well, they didn't take your comment down. There must be more to this than boosting their ratings.

Besides, this is not the only site that shows many dissatisfied customers explaining how bad the product is.

I know. I don't even work for Gutter Glove but I know from experience that some of the meshes out there are woven to tight to allow water to get in.

In areas where there is high volume of water it is better to use a micro mesh that is more loosely woven. This will actually grab the water when it comes off the roof. These do a great job. The true test is the sink test.

If you are getting estimates, insist that the representative run water in your kitchen sink through the mesh to see how much goes in and how much does not. Turn the water on full blast so you will get an idea of how good or bad it is working.

Talib Gos

Hi Haryy,

What you're describing sounds like a case of improper installation. If water is overshooting your gutters, please contact the certified Gutterglove dealer which installed your system or contact us directly at 877-662-****. We would be more than happy to help you get your Gutterglove gutter guard working properly!

gutter glove will rust don't waist your time with this product before you buy a stainless screen do some homework call around and talk to people who know about stainless steel they will tell you that stainless steel will rust in a few years if you near salt water it will rust even sooner also think about the weather ice and snow will destroy them, they charge a lot of money for something that won't last long leaf filter also will rust if you heart is set on a screen think about getting one that's been powder coated they are a lot cheaper your still have to clean them but they will last a lot longer

I've had Gutterglove pro on my home since 2006 and no rust. I live in Wisconsin and winter is real here.

Snow and Ice. No rust.

They use salt to clear our street of ice and it gets all over everything when it's dry and blows around including my house and gutters , no rust. Your review is unproven.

No it won't. Had it on my home since 2007 and it looks fine. Wow who do you work for NASA lol.

Gutterglove gutter guard is constructed with 316 stainless steal, not the cheaper and less rest resistant 304 stainless. We take great pride in our product and have done thorough testing, including salt water testing. Gutterglove will stand up to the test of time, which is why we give it a 25 year warranty, which is good enough for the Army Corps of Engineers!

Gutter glove what a rip off

gutter glove doesn't work, it clogs to easy they don't warrant the screen from clogging just your gutters you have to keep them clean your self go figure they don't tell you this when they are selling it they claim they are self cleaning i should have known better. to clean them you have to unscrew them take them down and hose it off put them back on and screw them which is much more difficult then just cleaning you gutters out i got these so i wouldn't have to get on a ladder anymore i am much to old for this any way i would not recommend screen especially gutter glove

Shame on you Tom, You know your micro screen clogs with decayed debris, pollen and oil from roof.

Guest

No product in the world is 100% effective, Gutterglove has three products you can choose from and if you have a lot of oak trees and such you can get Gutterglove Ultra that is not as tight woven and I've never seen that clog at times you might get a few leaves that might have stuck or backed on your roof ( they will do that if you had no gutters at all) But the joke you talk about taking a power washer to the screen is pure nonsense. Yes I do install Gutterglove im a dealer wont say where so you wont think I'm trying to get business.

I've Installed Most everything out there and I stick with Gutterglove for one reason it works great and I have very few call backs and if I do I go check the problem out and most its just an easy fix.

Only once it was because of a small part of screen that clogged and a new roof was just installed and the oil in only a small part clogged the screen and the fix was spray degreaser on the screen and scrub it off, I know the homeowner personly and he's never had another problem. So if your getting high pressure and rude people its not the Product its the dealer call Gutterglove direct they will help you.

Tom again The only hope for Gutter cleaners is hey its only $75 to $150 once a year to clean your gutters. Now lets be real here minimum to keep your gutters clean is twice in the fall twice in the spring.

But now think you clean your gutters the first time and depending on the tree's and how many you have or your neighbor has how long do you think its going to take to clog your gutters again. and they start rotting facia boards or dripping on your window seal, doors or whatever. you don't call a gutter cleaner because your gutters are clean do you?

so right after you pay the cleaner whatever the price maybe the next day you have a lot of wind and it blows leaves of the tree's where do these things go they? So your Gutter cleaning bill for lets say $100.00 lasted a week water runs to the down spouts on a properly installed gutter and so does everything else in your gutters until it creates a dam effect or covers the down spout hole.

It only takes a hand full of leaves to clog a gutter.so now we are looking at a minimum of $300 to $600.00 for gutters that can still cost you money in facia repairs or mold removal it just makes sense to have you gutters flowing water smoothly.

I did an install about a month ago home had gutter only full of leaves and such I had to replace 90% of the facia boards replace a few rafter tails at a cost of $1200 for wood repairs then because of rotting facia boards it cause the gutters to pull away and some twisted and bend so that was replaced cost of $1500.00 for new gutters and down spouts cost for repairs was $2700.00 and the cost for me to intall the Gutterglove Ultra was $2850.00 so all in all they could have saved the $2700.00 added $100.00 and not gone through that whole process. So its really how you look at things Gutter cleaners will go broke if every house had a good gutter Protection on them.

Gutter glove, leaf filter, stainless steel screens

If you are thinking of getting screens, here is something you should no screen company's are now coming out with stainless steel mesh some with different layers of mesh all stainless steel will rust over time,if near saltwater less then a year must will take 3 or 4 years to rust but don't take my word for it come some businesses who sell stainless products and they will tell that it indeed it will also screens don't hold up to the climate snow and ice destroy them, so before you spend your money think about it

Gutter glove

Systems that promise to keep your gutters leaf-free can easily cost thousands of dollars. But our 16 months of outdoor testing show that a low-priced screen may be all it takes to keep out leaves and other debris.

Our testers saw some big differences among types (Gutter Glove & Leaf Filter).

We also found that some of those systems could leave you with clogged gutters, cascading rainwater, or both. Here are our results: Though all were impressive at shedding debris, even the top-scoring, LeafFilter screen was only middling at containing a severe downpour, Keep in mind all screens need to be cleaned atleast twice a year.

If these systems need to be cleaned twice a year, you may as well save your money and just clean your gutters twice a year...

Well if you have lots of trees with seed pods (( like maple or crepe myrtles), flower petals, brittle sticks, pine tags and lots of storms ......you will need to clean about 4-6 times a year plus the heavy fall with acorns and leaves that fill it up every week or so. So 2 times a yr might not work for everyone.

Gutter Glove Very High Pressure

Gutter Glove is a complete joke. They sent some slick high pressure guy out to my house and tried to force my wife to buy that day. I wasn't home and she told them that she couldn't make a decision with out talking it over with me. The salesman was very rude and wanted to wait in our home for over an hour for me to get home. She explained to him that she had all the information that she needed as well as an estimate for $5700. He was very persistent and wanted to wait in my house until I arrived. My wife explained to him that she would discuss the proposal with me and that we would call him the next day with a decision. He then explained to her that he didn't drive an hour to not get a decision that day. He became very irate and threatening and my wife had to force him to leave. We obviously did not purchase their product.

This is a problem with lots of contractors these days (and franchises are the worse) as they have no immediate control of situation. People in general have become very mean and agressive - are they all on steroids?

Years ago, making a decision after careful thought was encouraged for the most part and the sales guy remained friendly because he wanted you to call and buy. These people today don't care if they *** you off - if you can't make your mind up now, well to devil with you. And if you say no it's just too much money..you get chewed out for taking their time when you couldn't afford it anyway. Did they forget, you might not be able to get right now but in a couple of weeks or month you might be able to do so.

If you are mean bully, you can bet that is someone who I won't call and might report them to the police.

The next poor soul might not be able to stand up for themselves.

Guest

I wouldn't buy them either, and that guy's attitude would have scared me. I would have called the cops when he wouldn't leave.

It's his job to come out and give a free estimate even if it's far away, and if you're comparing prices you aren't supposed to have make a decision then. I hope you complained to his employer because he's going to lose a lot of business for them.

And now I will not give purchasing these a second thought. Thanks for your review

I was commenting on a review from someone who complained about the salesman's tactics, saying that he would sit and wait for the woman's husband to come home and not wanting to have driven an hour to get there without a decision. BS

Guest

Reading these reviews was funny. 3 of them looked like the same guy, 2 of them using the word no instead of know where it should have been.

2 of them saying stainless steel rusts for people living near the coast. Not so sure about that. I guess if you live right on the ocean with salt water in the air, anything is possible with salts corrosive effects. Sounds to me like these reviews are done by a competitor selling cheap helmets going up under the first row or second row.

Neither one of these are worth a darn, trust me with 12 years of experience in this industry. You don't want to alter your roof line in any way. 1st rows are the worst, you expose your roof decking, moisture and evaporation can get behind the fascia through the gap between the roof decking and the fascia board. Plus it lifts up your shingles.

You are right away causing your roof line to look different. There are to many disadvantages of 1st row under shingle installation to list.

To be fair. I sell a reverse curve system.

But, also sell a micro mesh. It is not Gutter Glove but similar to it at half the price.

If you can't afford a reverse curve system, the next best thing is a micro mesh.

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-813935

*Too* many disadvantages! If you're going to knock others for their grammar and spelling, perhaps you should double check your own!

Guest
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-813935

AND... there was a comma splice/run-on sentence. No, dude, you don't get to take shots at someone because of their grammar and then commit egregious grammatical faults of your own.

FAIL.

***GUTTERGLOVE PRO***DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT***

I must totally agree with Cathy B as we also had a salesman cancel after the Chicago/Milwaukee Gutterglove made the appointment. This was within hours of the time of the appointment and the salesman stated he would not come out unless both husband and wife would be home.

This salesman DID work for Chicago/Milwaukee Gutterglove. After calling the manufacture in California one of the Chicago owners came out. We agreed to overlook a bad salesman and to install the Gutterglove Pro. We should have followed Cathy's lead as this was a huge mistake.

THIS SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK !!! After two attempts to repair the system and one no show, we had our fill. We had watched (and had pictures) of the water running over the Gutterglove and from the front of the gutter and from the facia board. Our sump pumps ran everytime it rained.

Even with a light rain. We filed a suit in court to recover the high cost of this non working system and the judge agreed. Chicago/Milwaukee Gutterglove was ordered to repay the cost of the system. They have since refused certified delivery of the demand letter and further court action will be started.

THIS IS NOT A COMPANY YOU WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND CHICAGO/MILWAUKEE GUTTERGLOVE OR THE PRODUCT ITSELF.

IT DID NOT WORK AS IT WAS SOLD AND GUARANTEED. This product is a definite DO NOT BUY from our experience.

Guest

An ignorant unprofessional sale presentation is inappropriate and unfortunately reflects poorly on all owners. But to transfer this poor salesman's stupidity upon the product would be mis representative of a great product.
